If I could give this firm 10 stars I would have. Tammy Smith has a SUPERIOR knowledge of Family Law. I cannot stress enough how confident we were going into court having her as our attorney. She made sure to be abreast of all information we gave her and used all of our updates we sent periodically over the months it took our case to be heard. The grasp she had on not only our specific case issues, but of the knowledge of Law itself was a stark difference between the opposing counsel. Having proper representation for our case was extremely important and we could not be more happy with choosing such an impressive attorney. It is unfortunate that circumstances lead our family to court for a custody hearing but with the help of Tammy Smith our outcome was absolutely positive and in the best interest of my boyfriends daughter. Tammy Smith is an extremely intelligent woman who was excellent with presenting a strong factual case that focused on what was in the best interest of a child. She not only made it seem as though it was personal for her, she presented and gathered her information prior to her presenting to the judge. She's good! She knows what needs to be heard and not heard. She is passionate and it is displayed in her arguments and she advocates for the fathers in this world that often do all the work behind the scenes but get penalized in the eye of the public. It goes without saying that Tammy is representing her clients as if it was her own family. She follows up and checks on her clients on off hours and truly cares about her profession and those she comes in contact with. The one thing you will feel while going through custody situations is the waiting game. Be patient and I assure you Tammy and the Law Firm will contact you immediately when they have information or documents for you. Remember you are getting charged for all they do and they do not waste time or money unless it is extremely important or you have a ruling and an order. Tammy always contacted us and updated us when she received the information. Their are also a lot of red tape that civilians do not know about that may delay the process. I first used Tammy Smith last year for a case with my Fiance's Ex who was stalking me. She was EXTREMELY helpful in every way. She made me feel like it was just as personal to her as it was to me and she definitely handled my case in court with Professionalism and was aggressive when needed. First and foremost I can’t say enough good things about Tammy. I was out of state on a assignment when I found out that my ex filed for my son to be adopted by her husband. She disappeared with him for two years at that point. I went to court not really having enough time to hire a attorney. I did talk to Tammy on the phone once before but didn’t make final arrangements with her. Quickly I realize this wasn’t something I could handle myself When i started to feeling anxiety rush over me in front of the Judge. Luckily she was in the court room. The judge asked me if I would like a chance to get a attorney instead of moving forward, I didn’t even noticed Tammy behind me when she spoke up and told him that we started to talk but haven’t had the opportunity to finish up. She expressed that the court didn’t give me enough time to get across country and set up anything. They continued my case and I hired her on the spot. She won that case for me and is currently trying to help me fight so I can see my son again.... this has been the hardest thing I have dealt with as a man, being a father that isn’t in my sons life. I thought I might have lost him forever when my ex disappeared and wouldn’t answer me back. Tammy has given me hope and even though I live in another state. Excellent in every way!! I had a very serious charge in Harnett County and I had no idea what to do. I had a paralegal friend who recommended Marshall. As soon as Marshall was told of what happened, he came straight to the jail and talked to me about exactly what he's going to do, and how he's going to do it. He helped me through everything and it turned out very well in my favor. Marshall was completely realistic with me from the beginning, and he kept me involved in the entire process. I have worked with Marshall Miller and Tammy Smith since the spring of 2015. Over the course of our time together, Marshall and Tammy both tenaciously fought on my behalf. The custody agreement involved my 2 children, one of whom has severe special needs. Tammy Smith was truly intent on understanding what my special needs child's life is like day to day, as well as my long term goals for her. In order to do this, she had to grasp complex medical diagnoses, treatments and protocols. Tammy also had to understand special education from a Federal standpoint, as well as from state to state. A special needs child is like an individual fingerprint, each is unique and complex in their needs and strengths. Tammy endeavored not only to understand that uniqueness, but to grasp it so firmly that she could advocate on my child's behalf in legal proceedings. This is a talent which few possess, and I am beyond grateful to have such an adept person handling my case. She did this not only for my special needs child, but for my neuro-typical child, as well. Often child custody that includes a special needs child can overlook the needs of a neuro-typical child. Tammy made certain that my son's needs were addressed equally to his sister's in our custody agreement. Representing my children and me was not just a job to her. Tammy has fought tirelessly for us, and in all ways went above and beyond. In my experience, Marshall and Tammy take their callings as attorneys personally, and strive to bring assurance and calm during such an emotionally stressful time. I felt heard in my desired outcomes, and they were steadfast in their efforts to make those outcomes happen.
